Scholarship Discounts based on need and merit are available to all deserving students who gain admittance. We will do our best to accommodate your ability to pay. The school awards full and partial scholarships based on available funding so we recommend that you go ahead and apply in order to see if your potential aid amount meets your needs. All scholarship awards require a work/study commitment. Please see the online application for details.
While all students do receive some form of a scholarship, the 2024 tuition will be $5100 and includes most of what you need such as family-style housing, groceries and some group dinners, instruction, critics, a lecture series, field trips to metropolitan areas to see art, and more (students are responsible for acquiring their own art supplies).
A lot of your hearts just sank when you saw $5100 even though we used all that bold print above. Don’t give up! Your price could be anywhere from NEGATIVE $500 to $5100 depending on a combination of need and merit. Many generous donors love the mission of the school and its equity principles. Have faith and start an application today!
Low income typically get full scholarships, middle income average about half, and upper income and international students receive merit awards limited to half. See our application for more details on how we calculate income levels.
Ask Jay the director about his summer funding tool kit. You can do it!
A required $75 NY Trip hotel fee is due on or before arrival. This year we have planned a two-day overnight artist studio and museum trip. If for some reason the overnight component of this trip gets canceled we'll be able to return the hotel fee.
A $150 housing and studio caution deposit are also due on or before arrival.
If you live nearby and have your own food and accommodations we may offer a commuter agreement on a case-by-case basis once we discuss how it will impact your experience of the program.
